Shadows of Colesbrooke by Brandy I. Timmons: November Excerpts
November 18, 2023 – Road
Thomas turned down the road, sidestepping around an overflowing dumpster smelling like feces. The #road was dimly lit by a building on the left, and the building seemed to cut the breeze. Thomas pulled his hands from his pocket but kept his faster pace.
November 19, 2023 – Rough
Swallowing nervously, Thomas checked the mirror, relieved to see his reflection. The feeling didn’t last long. He was #roughed up, ragged and disheveled, his clothes filthy, torn, and blood stained. And his hair was a mess.
November 21, 2023 – Rub
Frowning, Sean scrutinized Thomas’ disheveled clothes. “Damn. What happened to you?”
Thomas #rubbed the back of his neck and muttered, “Um, yeah, it’s kind of a long story.”
November 22, 2023 – Reject
November 23, 2023 – Resist
He #resisted the urge to tear off his gloves. The itch wasn’t necessarily a physical sensation but rather a mental one, something deep inside of him wanted to rip off the gloves and inspect his hands once more for the bite mark.
November 24, 2023 – Room
He crinkled his nose and followed her into the living #room.
Dammit. He was already distracted by her.
Moonlit Woods by Brandy I. Timmons: November Excerpts
November 17, 2023 – Riot
The room was on the brink of a #riot, but the ugly vampire had succeeded in his probable goal of taking the pressure off Thomas.
November 18, 2023 – Road
The car dropped as Benjamin creeped through a pothole half the size of the #road, banging Clara into the side window. She growled as she rubbed her ear and sat back in her seat.
November 19, 2023 – Rough
More importantly, Donald had years of #rough and tumble experience to call upon and upper body strength that would have shamed a silverback gorilla.
November 21, 2023 – Rub
His neck smelled human, a musty flesh scent mixed with salt and oils, but the vampire stench clung to his hoodie and backpack. It was stronger than the occasional whiff at the café—was he actively spending time with one? Or at least one his friends was and smell was #rubbing off on him.
November 22, 2023 – Reject
Now that the words were out, her fear had disappeared. Good. She squared her shoulders and glared at Sean, daring him to #reject her.
November 23, 2023 – Resist
Clara #resisted the urge to tell them off, but she’d never cared about how werewolves talked about vampires before. To have changed so suddenly would draw unwanted attention.
November 24, 2023 – Room
As the sun began to slip beneath the horizon, they all went to their #rooms. Clara and her roommates took their clothes off and folded them on their beds. The other members of the pack were doing the same in their respective rooms.
