The rustling grew louder, accompanied by snapping twigs.

Disgusted, he #pushed it further away. His hand brushed the spill when he released the mug’s handle.
The energy inside of him began to rage. His dizziness faded, and his craving increased.

He looked #pleased with himself, and it was going to get him killed.
December 13, 2023 – Past
“That’s not the same thing. But seriously, I don’t think you have anything to worry about in this part of town. It’s a nice, older neighborhood. The little grannies are always looking out for you, right? They always tell me how you’re doing if I walk #past them.”
December 14, 2023 – Park
“Oh. Did you go to the #park? On tonight of all nights? That’s rich, kid. That’s a keeper. I swear, you’ve gotta be the unluckiest fledgling I’ve ever met,” Lawrence said, shaking with laughter as he slammed his hand on the counter. “The woods are werewolf territory, kid. The full moon is a few nights comin’.”
December 15, 2023 – Pick
Thomas #picked up his pace. He wasn’t ready to give up on his human life, not completely. With the hospital, he hadn’t had a choice. There was no way he could continue his residency when he lost control every time he smelled an open wound.

Ernest had made his position clear. He would challenge the human world and his position in it, even if it meant putting every vampire on the #planet at risk in the process.

Benjamin wouldn’t be #pleased that his sister was associating with someone who had ties to the vampires.

Benjamin had shared this dark secret with at least two women over the #past fifty years, but both of those stories ended sadly.

“I don’t like where this is going,” Benjamin said, his tone blunter than a river stone, but he sat down on the couch anyway. “If you need help burying a body, ask someone else. I’ve told the pack a million times; I don’t like you digging up the #parks.”

“Maybe we don’t have to fight the whole gang of mutts,” one of the vampires was muttering to another. “Maybe it’ll be enough to #pick off one of them as a message. A lone wolf.”
