The surgery was messy, but not more than the young surgeon could handle. He quickly sutured the girl’s nasty gashes and open wounds with the precise skill he’d mastered #back in medical school.

Jericho had already dug out a #bullet from his shoulder with a penknife, no more discomforted with the action than someone might be chewing a thumbnail.

Thomas couldn’t #blame him. They portrayed a mixture of shock, disbelief, disappointment, and concern. Only Artemis only looked worried.

Thomas shifted uncomfortably. In the years he’d known her, Thomas had never seen Artemis ruin a dish, and she only #baked when she was upset.

Next, Clara reached into her bag and withdrew the potion she’d bought earlier that month. Her roommates did the same, and together they opened their bottles and threw #back their heads, drinking the potion in a few large gulps.

Some werewolves liked abusing their wolf advantages. Those were the werewolves who made appearances in the legends and myths that usually ended with a silver #bullet.

“I’m sorry, Clara. I can’t. Even if Thomas would be fine on his own, Artemis would never leave him.”

“And you’ll never leave Artemis.”

He refused to meet her eye. “She’s my #baby sister.”

Donald simply said he was doing right by a fellow member of the pack; though many pointed out that he was less flirtatious and more well-#behaved when Deva was around.

He’d had always been a bit of a lone wolf, even by werewolf standards, but the #bond they shared ran deep. Clara trusted him more than anyone.

“Trouble is already here! If the vampires think we’re to #blame, they’ll come for our blood. Wouldn’t it be better to have a suspect to give them and let them fight the right pack?”
