Panic choked him like a stale pillow pressed against his face, and he stood up to escape and breath. He wasn’t #ready. He couldn’t do this. Not now.
November 3, 2023 – Ring
Lips almost touching, Julia’s phone began to #ring.
Their breathing stopped as they held each other’s gaze. The music volume increased, drowning their heartbeats, and the tension ebbed away as the cacophony of ringing filled the air then fell silent.
November 4, 2023 – Really
“Speaking of thresholds, I don’t #really understand how that works. I’m kind of new at this thing. How does a house know whether or not to keep us out? Why is it only private residences that keep us out, not public?”
November 5, 2023 – Round
The object was a #round metal ball nearly the size of a thumbnail. It looked suspiciously like the ammunition used for muskets Thomas had seen in history books, but that didn’t make any sense.
November 7, 2023 – Restore
As she shifted her weight, the bottles on the tray shifted too. She tensed, trying to #restore the balance but overcorrected, sending all of the beers tumbling.
November 8, 2023 – Response
Thomas couldn’t manage anything else for a #response. He didn’t want to drink from humans. He didn’t want to drink from his friends. But he was too scared of himself to be able to promise.

Then #rage filled her mind, and the wolf was free.
November 2, 2023 – Ready
Yet the hairs on the back of Clara’s neck rose and she bared her teeth, the bestial part of her mind trying to break free and turn her into a mindless monster #ready to flay the threat.
November 3, 2023 – Ring
A slight itch tingled her skin, and Clara glanced down at the thin vampire’s hands and saw a bright gleam on each #ring finger. Piano wires dipped in pure silver.
November 4, 2023 – Really
The wolf that lurked inside Clara’s mind never #really went away. It was always there, waiting for a moment of weakness in her mental defenses so that it could leap into action.
November 5, 2023 – Round
“The gun in my right hand has hollow points. The gun in my left hand has silver tipped #rounds.”
November 6, 2023 – Reign
She stopped knocking and took several deep breaths. The wolf had been allowed too much free #reign as she took her frustration out on the door. If she didn’t get the wolf under control soon, she might be struggling with it until the next full moon.
November 7, 2023 – Restore
It would not only prove her pack was innocent, but also provided the means to #restore the peace of the city, as the local werewolves and vampires worked together to get rid of a common enemy.
November 8, 2023 – Response
Laughing, the newcomer just gave his mustache a twirl and winked at Izzy, not bothering to provide a proper #response.
