Shadows of Colesbrooke by Brandy I. Timmons: October WIPWordSearch Excerpts 2024

October 1, 2024 – Full

There were odd stories that made the news every once in a while, like six #full-grown pit bull terriers vanishing from the junkyard they guarded and showing up two weeks later behind an old church, eviscerated and left for the crows.

October 2, 2024 – Fail

Penny asked him to try and hypnotize her, but since she snickered every so often, especially when staring into his eyes, the idea #failed.

October 3, 2024 – Fun

“I’m getting a headache. Can’t we all go back to making #fun of Sean for his girl troubles?”

October 4, 2024 – Fire/Fiery

“Now, kid, I’d like to take this opportunity to remind you that we vampires are tough but not invincible. Holy water, sunlight, #fire, wooden stakes, and the poison from a fellow vampire’s bite are grand ways to put us in a world of hurt,” Lawrence explained

October 5, 2024 – Fit

The kitchen didn’t #fit everyone, and it was easier for Thomas to stand a few feet away from the warm heartbeats and throbbing veins.

October 6, 2024 – Finger

Thomas’ #fingers ached bone-deep, reminding him of gripping the chain on a swing for too long as a child. He might have been able to feel some nostalgia over the comparison if he’d been able to feel anything other than fatigue.

October 7, 2024 – Fine

A jolt of pain from a set of sharp, #fine objects, dug into his neck.

October 8, 2024 – Far

His paranoia grew with each step until he was running. Let Sean tease him for being a coward until the day he died. As long as that day was somewhere #far in the future instead of tonight.

Moonlit Woods by Brandy I. Timmons: October WIPWordSearch Excerpts 2024

October 1, 2024 – Full

She slunk to her window and crouched out of sight. The wolf in her mind whined for a fight, to chase down the invading bloodsucker. With the #full moon so close, it had more power and her entire body ached to transform.

October 2, 2024 – Fail

He kept smiling as he lit his pipe. “Bloody humans always have something to worry about. Their sensational news will find something new to report and stir up the masses. They never #fail. It’s the vampires you have to worry about, honest.”

October 3, 2024 – Fun

“Would it hurt you to try having #fun for once?”

Somehow she’d try to have #fun, too. She didn’t really want the pack asking questions.

“We aren’t here to have #fun. We’re here to make sure we don’t hurt anyone.”

October 4, 2024 – Fire/Fiery

Clara shuddered as the liquid touched her tongue. It was heavy and vile and filled her veins with #fire.

October 5, 2024 – Fit

The windows had been boarded up, a new door that didn’t #fit the 1920’s motif had been hastily slapped over the entrance, and the area reeked of cordite and gun powder.

October 6, 2024 – Finger

A small glass vial reeking of holy water, hawthorn seeds, and garlic oil fell from Artemis’s numbed #fingers and shattered against the ground at her feet. The offending smell burned her nose, throat, and lungs, and Clara growled in a tone that would make even a bear flee in terror.

October 7, 2024 – Fine

“I’m #fine.” She was acutely aware of her nudity as the pack crowded around her. She hadn’t been the only one naked before. “I just need to wash up.”

October 8, 2024 – Far

With tears flooding her vision, Clara turned and sprinted down the street. If only she could get #far enough away, maybe she could fix this. If she could leave behind this crazy, horrible situation, maybe she wouldn’t have to face it.
